Transitional Kitchen Design with White Cabinetry

This transitional kitchen design masterfully blends various shades of white to create an open and airy space that still offers a good amount of depth and contrast. This perfect balance is what makes this design so visually appealing.

Transitional Kitchen Design with White Cabinetry

The cabinetry is the most prominent white element of the transitional kitchen design. Painted the soft “Classic White,” this shade’s undertones ensure the space feels warm and inviting instead of cold and sterile—a trap easily fallen into if not careful when designing all-white kitchens. The Silverton door style offers just the right amount of subtle detail, striking the perfect transitional balance between modern minimalism and traditional ornamentation.

In contrast, the subway tile backsplash and quartz countertops trend toward the cooler side of white. This mix of shades adds depth and contrast to the transitional kitchen design, preventing the space from feeling like one big white wall. The gray veining of the quartz and natural color variation of the artisan tile enhance this visual interest.

While all three of these white elements are truly transitional, the homely decor such as the glass beverage dispenser, pillar candles, and decorative dinnerware was tipping the scale towards traditional. That’s why modern nickel pendant lights and cabinet hardware were chosen to level the scale back of this design. Contemporary elements continued through the ultra high-end Thermador stainless steel gas range and Vent-A-Hood range hood.
